Qualifying Criteria for the International Carding Scheme


The International Carding Scheme provides a range of supports both finanacial and non-financial, to assist Ireland's most talented tennis players. The scheme offers financial support to cover players general living expenses not otherwise covered by the National Governing Body. Category Criteria for 2009
Contracted
  • Top 1-3 in the World Rankings
  • Last Four in Grand Slam event
  • Medalist in the Olympic Games
World Class
  • 4-8 in the World Rankings
  • 5-8 in Grand Slam events
  • 4-8 in the Olympic Games 
International
  • 9-250 in the World Rankings*
  • Qualification/acceptance into the Olympic Games
  • Acceptance into the main draw of Grand Slam events
Developmental
  • Top 251-600 in the World and under 24 years of age
  • Junior Grand Slam U18 acceptance
  • Top 25 in NCAA Rankings and under 24 years of age
  • Players U17 top 350 world junior ranking U18 circuit
  • Players U18 top 200 world junior ranking U18 circuit 
Junior
  • U14 top & 100 in European ranking in U14 circuit
  • U15 top & 200 in European ranking in U16 circuit
  • U16 top & 100 in European ranking in U16 circuit
  

  • Ranking must show yearly improvement, i.e. - 2006 - 200, 2007 - 100, 2008 - 64
