The Irish Davis Cup team supports Temple Street in Route 66 Challenge.

John Matthews is an avid Tennis Fan, a Motorcycle enthusiast and has been a volunteer Davis Cup steward at recent ties in Fitzwilliam. He is a member of Malahide LTC.

He has now taken up the Route 66 Challenge for Temple Street Children’s Hospital to help raise funds for this very worthy cause.

In September 2010, John will take part in one of the most exhilarating motorcycle challenges in the world, by joining a team of 100 Irish motorcyclists, pillions and support vehicles. The Trip along Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angles crosses 8 States and covers 2,500 miles and obviously all funds raised by the participants will directly benefit Temple Street Children’s University Hospital.

Tennis Ireland is very pleased to be associated with this fundraiser and we hope that the Irish tennis fans at Davis Cup 9 – 11 July will support John.

You can meet John and purchase a Temple Street Raffle Ticket (€5 each, 5 for €20) at the Davis Cup tie and this could win you a fantastic trip for 2 to New York. If you can’t be at Davis Cup, you can support John donating online through this link.
