Templeogue Tennis Club is looking to appoint a Head Coach to manage and develop the Club’s Coaching Programmes.


Situated in Templeogue Village, the Club has 12 courts & approx 1700 members.

PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Head Coach will be responsible for:
 The planning, organisation, management and development of the Club‟s coaching activities in line with the policy laid down by the Coaching Review Committee.
 The delivery of a comprehensive coaching programme for both Junior & Senior members with special attention to the development of promising players.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
General
 To plan, organise and implement the annual Coaching Programmes for the club.
 Hire coaches with the necessary qualifications in co-operation with the Coaching Review Committee.
 Meet with the Coaching Review committee and the Senior Tennis & Junior Tennis sub-committees as necessary.
 Report quarterly to the Executive Committee, or as requested by the committee.


Senior Tennis
 Work with the Tennis sub-committees in relation to the picking of teams for various inter club leagues
 Organise and schedule various group coaching programmes during the year
 Provide Coaching sessions for the men‟s and ladies 1st league teams on a weekly basis prior and during leagues.


Junior Tennis
 Assist when required with the placement/seeding of players for the Club Championships, round robins etc., as required by the Junior Committing.
 Work with the Junior sub-committee in relation to the picking of various inter-club league teams
 Organise and schedule various group coaching programmes, including the promising players, during the year. In a structure that allows promising players to progress and performance players to improve.
 Organise interclub matchplays monthly.
 Organise with the coaches‟ feedback to parents on the progress of juniors in the coaching programme.
 Organise and operate the Junior Summer Programme in July & August in co-operation with the Junior sub-committee
 Give advice if requested by the Junior Open Week Committee.


REPORTING PROCEDURES
 The Head Coach will report to the Junior Officer on a weekly basis, but on a monthly basis with the Coaching Review Committee, Vice-President, Men‟s Captain, Ladies Captain and Junior Officer
 The Head Coach will also be required to maintain good working relationships at various levels within the Club, including with the Executive Committee, the various sub-committees, the Club Manager and Administrator.


QUALIFICATIONS
 A recognised coaching qualification
 Excellent coaching skills
 Ability to work on own initiative
 Good people skills and good communicator
 A good understanding of the Irish tennis scene
 Two references will be required


TERMS OF CONTRACT
 The position will be on a contract basis, with an initial probationary period of six months.
 Remuneration details will be discussed at time of interview
 Flexible working hours will be required, depending on the needs of the members
 A minimum of twenty hours per week will be required. This will include on court coaching and some administration time, and would be spread Mon-Sat...
 Further „on court‟ hours may be required for Club group coaching programmes and these will be discussed and agreed as required.
