Title: Junior Steward
Location: Sutton,Dublin 13

Description
Sutton Lawn Tennis Club is one of the oldest tennis clubs in Ireland. It has a current membership of approx. 600 junior and 800 senior members. The club is currently recruiting a junior steward to oversee and supervise junior tennis members during their time on the club grounds on a fixed term contract basis. There will also be some administrative work involved. It is anticipated that the contract will be for a period from Monday June 28th 2010 until and including Friday August 27th 2010.

Summary role
Supervising tennis and other sporting and recreational activities of junior members on club premises
· Organising internal tennis tournaments and other sporting activities, if appropriate
· Assisting in the administration of junior tennis ladders and coaching groups
· Ensuring facilities are maintained to high standard
· Allocation of courts to junior and senior members while on duty
· Reporting to Club Administrator and Office Staff
· Liaising with Chairperson of Junior Committee and Club Tennis and Squash Coaches
Experience required:
Preference will be given to applicants with more than 1 Years experience
Skills required
The ability to implement a programme of sporting activities for children is essential. Holdinga Professional Qualification or currently training for a sports or educational qualification would be an advantage. Other requirements are:
1 Experience of working with children
2 Background in leisure/fitness would be a distinct advantage
3 Flexible and outgoing with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
4 Commitment and the ability to motivate and work well with people
This position may suit a 3rd level student, who is currently studying for a sports/leisure management qualification or a teaching qualification. It is anticipated that the hours to be worked per week will vary but will be approx 30 (flexible) hours per week. Some week end work may be required. References will be required from two sources.
